Travellers between Kenya and Uganda have another option. Jambojet, the low-cost airline owned by Kenya Airways, resumed daily direct flights between Nairobi and Entebbe on 1 October, Pulse Kenya reported, citing Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority.
The airline first flew to Uganda in 2018 but pulled out in 2020 when Covid-19 hit. The inaugural return flight landed at Entebbe on 1 October.
The details
Flights link Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with Entebbe International Airport, using De Havilland Dash 8 Q400 turboprops. The flight itself takes about 65 minutes, though you will need to add time for check-in and security.
Pulse Kenya’s 2 October report listed introductory one-way fares from around KSh22,950, roughly $170. As always, the price you actually pay depends on when you fly and how early you book.
Jambojet is pitching the route at holidaymakers, business travellers and anyone with family across the border. It will also carry cargo and parcels.
